Sääne: My work has been always inspired by the human nature and its physical body. That is why I have chosen to explored the different emotions and ideas that the human body offers. Especially the human face and all the expressions and feelings that come with it. Therefore, portraits and nudes form an important part of my work. I often find myself to be the model for my paintings, because I feel that that way I am more connected with the emotion and more inspired to but a piece of myself in my creation. But I also enjoy painting models (usually my friends and family), when I have depicted a strong feeling or found a photo with great power to it and I have had quite a lot of experience with commissioned portraits.
